TranscenDance Studios is home to nonprofit youth ensembles Jazz TransAxion, TransRhythm Tap, Hip Hop TransFuzion, and TDS Minis.  Dancers range between the ages of 6 and 18 years old.  Company Ensembles are under the direction of Cait Jones. 

TDS youth ensembles are dedicated to preserving the history of their dance form, promoting and presenting dance to the public eye, and further innovation of the art form to carry the dance community into a new generation through leadership and educational opportunities.  We strive to transcend the norm...

TDS Companies are for dancers interested in additional performance opportunities, taking their technique to the next level, and having lots of fun in a supportive team atmosphere.

COMPANY DESCRIPTIONS


TDS Minis
TDS Minis is a competitive company for our promising young dancers interested in additional performance opportunities, taking their technique to the next level, and having lots of fun in a supportive team atmosphere.  TDS Minis perform in three styles - hip hop, jazz, and tap.  Dancers are required to perform all three styles, and are required to take Beginning Level Tap (45 minutes), Beginning Jazz/Hip Hop (45 minutes), and Beginning Tumbling.  Minis are also highly encouraged to take Beginning Ballet.  Company weekly commitments include TDS Minis Rehearsal.  Minis do not attend Company Open Rehearsal. 

Hip Hop TransFuzion
Hip Hop TransFuzion dancers are required to take Advanced Hip Hop, Jumps & Stretch, and Intermediate/Advanced Breakdance.  HHTF dancers are also highly encouraged to take a tumbling class.  Company weekly commitments include Company Open Rehearsal with all levels of all TDS companies, and Hip Hop TransFuzion Rehearsal.  HHTF dancers are required to attend one pre-designated hip hop convention a year. 

Hip Hop TransFuzion 2
HHTF2 dancers are required to take Intermediate Hip Hop 3/4, and Intermediate/Advanced Breakdance.  HHTF 2 dancers are also highly encouraged to take a tumbling class.  Company weekly commitments include Company Open Rehearsal with all levels of all TDS companies, and Hip Hop TransFuzion 2 Rehearsal.  HHTF2 dancers are required to attend one pre-designated hip hop convention a year.


Jazz TransAxion
Jazz TransAxion dancers are required to take one Intermediate 3/4 - Advanced Ballet, Intermediate/Advanced Lyrical, and Advanced Jazz - Leaps & Turns.  Company weekly commitments include Company Open Rehearsal with all levels of all TDS companies, and Jazz TransAxion Rehearsal.  JTA dancers are required to attend one pre-designated jazz convention a year.

Jazz TransAxion 2
JTA2 is an apprentice company ages 9 and up.  JTA dancers are required to take Intermediate Ballet 1/2, Intermediate Lyrical 1/2, and Intermediate Jazz 3/4.  Company weekly commitments include Company Open Rehearsal with all levels of all TDS companies, and JTA2 Rehearsal.  JTA2 dancers are required to attend one pre-designated jazz convention a year.

TransRhythm Tap
TransRhythm Tap dancers are required to take Advanced Tap and an additional movement class of their choice such as ballet, jazz, or hip hop.  Company weekly commitments include Company Open Rehearsal with all levels of all TDS companies, and TransRhythm Tap Rehearsal.  TRT dancers are required to attend one pre-designated tap festival a year.

TransRhythm Tap 2
TRT2 is an apprentice company for ages 9 and up.  Dancers are required to take Intermediate Tap and an additional movement class of their choice such as ballet, jazz, or hip hop.  Company weekly commitments include Company Open Rehearsal with all levels of all TDS companies, and TransRhythm Tap 2 Rehearsal.  TRT2 dancers are required to attend one pre-designated tap festival a year.

There is mandatory parent meeting Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011
from 7:00-8:00 pm. 

Please be sure that you have:
1.  Downloaded an Audition Info & Season Policy Booklet for reference (see information tab)
2.  Signed and returned a Dancer-Parent Agreement (available at TDS reception)
3.  Ordered a studio warm up set (order forms available at TDS reception)
4.  Been registered for the appropriate technique classes
